At Samaritan Counseling Center Hawai’i, we provide professional and accessible behavioral health counseling sensitive to the spiritual traditions of individuals, families, and communities in Hawai’i, regardless of their ability to pay.

We never deny mental health services based on a person’s race, color, sex, age, national origin, disability, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or ability to pay.

Our services include:

  • Counseling Services. We offer mental health counseling to individuals, couples, and families. In-person visits are available on a limited-basis.
  • Telehealth Counseling. We offer professional, confidential mental health counseling from the comfort and convenience of your home. Call us at 808-545-2740 to decide whether telehealth is right for you.
  • Counseling at Home. We offer home visits for seniors, caregivers, and individuals in Honolulu who have difficulty leaving home. Read our Home Visits brochure (English and Japanese). In response to COVID-19, home visits for new clients have been postponed.
  • Clergy Care. We offer pastoral counseling and clergy candidate assessments.
  • Congregational Care. We offer educational programs and community outreach.
  • Speaker Requests. Our speakers can lead discussion groups and workshops about a variety of mental health issues, including domestic violence awareness, grief counseling, and suicide prevention.

We refer clients to other providers if we do not provide the services they need or if it is in the person’s best interests.

Good Faith Estimate. Under the law, clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much mental health services will cost. Clients can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling an appointment or at least one business day before a scheduled appointment. If clients receive a bill that is at least $400 more than the “Good Faith Estimate,” clients can dispute the bill.
